Dr. Mercy Funke SALAMI was the best-graduating student in the Department of Agricultural Economics and Farm Management, University of Ilorin in 2012 with first-class honors. She is currently a Senior lecturer in the same department. She is also a research associate at the University of Ilorin, Sugar Research Institute. She has won several travel grants, fellowships, and prizes with numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals. Her main area of research has been in Development Economics. Under this major research area, she concentrates more on issues of climate change, poverty, food security and nutrition, gender, and impact assessment. She has served as a level adviser at various levels, a Departmental Examination officer, and Faculty Representatives on different Faculty boards. She has successfully supervised many undergraduate and postgraduate projects. She holds membership in several professional bodies at home and abroad.
