Biography

Toyin Ajibade holds a Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics. As an IITA research fellow, her doctoral research was on Food Price Discovery and Volatility in Nigeria. Toyin specializes in trade, markets, and industrial organization. She has been involved in training financial institutions on agricultural lending and financial literacy curriculum development for farmers and MSMEs under the Nigeria Competitiveness Project. Her research team recorded a major milestone in Agricultural trade integration in West Africa with the USAID-funded KASUWAGO mobile app, a virtual market platform created for traders and farmers. She was engaged in projects with BRL Ingénierie France on inventory and characterization of the training centers in agroecology, sustainable agriculture, agribusiness, and processing of agricultural products in West Africa. She is widely published, with many collaborations. With an evolving agricultural revolution in view, Toyin’s drive is fueled by her passion to see agriculture metamorphose into a state of pride in West Africa.
